Energy Tips
How can I use less energy?
Hot water use is the biggest source of energy consumption in an Australian home. By switching to solar, you may be reducing your household's greenhouse gas emissions by around 30%, which is roughly equivalent to taking a small family car off the road.
Here are some other good ways to cut our greenhouse gas emissions:
- use compact fluorescent light bulbs
- use recycled paper
- keep your car tyres inflated
- run a dishwasher only when it is full
- change the filter on your air conditioner
- take shorter showers
- install low-flow shower heads
- buy a fuel-efficient car
- use public transport or car-pool
- plant trees
- replace old appliances
- unplug unused electronic equipment
- insulate your home
- install double glazing in air conditioned or heated rooms
- dry your clothes on a clothes line
