How to Lease from Sunglow
Here are the six easy steps in leasing your solar water heater through Sunglow.
Step 1:
Get quotes from any of the suppliers on the following list:
- Chromagen, see: www.chromagen.com.au
- Conergy, see www.conergy.com.au
- Douglas Solar, see www.douglassolar.com.au
- Edwards, see www.edwards.com.au
- Endless Solar, see www.endless-solar.com.au
- Rinnai Beasley, see www.rinnai.com.au/solar
- Solahart, see www.solahart.com.au
A home visit from your supplier/installer is essential for assessing the suitability of your home for a solar water heater, and for specifying the type of unit that will work best for your home. Sunglow does not offer advice about the choice of brands or the designs best suited to your home.
From time to time, Councils and Shires offer additional concessions to encourage the installation of solar water heaters. Please ask the consultants if concessions apply in your locality.
Step 2:
Choose the brand and design best suited to your needs.
Decide on the quote you will accept.
Step 3:
Advise Sunglow of the details of the quote you want to accept.
We need the details of the quote you will accept so we can arrange for the entire cost, after the point of sale discount for the RECs and up to the Maximum Lease Amount, to be billed to Sunglow. Click here to submit your quote details.
Step 4:
Agree to final credit check and pay the Lease Establishment Fee.
At this point we complete our credit check, by conducting a Title Search on the property where the solar hot water system is going to be installed. As long the person who is applying for the Lease Agreement is also listed as an owner or co-owner of the property, then the credit check with full approval is complete. To complete this final check and to authorise Sunglow to make all other deposits and payments to your supplier/installer, there is a one-off Lease Establishment Fee of $35 that is to be paid by credit card. The credit card must be in the same name as the person entering into the Lease Agreement. This credit card will also be the same credit card that Sunglow will automatically bill for all future Quarterly Lease Payments. By agreeing to pay the Lease Establishment Fee, you are also deemed to have accepted all the current Terms and Conditions of the Sunglow Lease Agreement.
Shortly after you accept the Terms and Conditions of the Sunglow Lease Agreement, we will forward you the various application forms for government concessions we believe you may be entitled to. From time to time, local Councils and Shires can also have special incentives on offer. We advise you to ask your local installer about these possible added incentives and also ask them to provide you with application forms for all possible State or Federal grants, rebates or subsidies that they may be aware of. This is just a double check to make sure you get everything you are entitled to.
Step 5:
Contact the supplier to arrange installation.
You arrange for installation at a time that suits you. Just quote the Sunglow Lease Authorisation Number and your order will be processed. Any extras for site difficulties above the Maximum Lease Amount will be to your personal account and will have to be paid directly to the supplier/installer. If you cancel your order after you have arranged an installation date, there will be a Cancellation Fee equal to 10% of the original quoted price before any point of sale discount for the RECs.
Step 6
Return the various government concession applications.
The installer signs the various government concession forms and records the serial number of the panels and tank on the applications. You then complete your specific details and post the applications back to the relevant concession provider. If you qualify for the concessions, you should receive payment within a few weeks.
Are you renting your home?
Unfortunately, Sunglow does not lease solar water heaters for rental properties, mainly because the term of the Sunglow Lease Agreement is longer than the term of most tenancy agreements.
Consequently, we provide the Sunglow Lease Agreement only to wholly owned or mortgaged residential properties.
